Items you are allowed include:
- Student ID card
- Pens (blue or black ink)
- Pencils (you are only allowed to use a pencil for multiple-choice question sheets)
- Erasers, rulers, sharpeners etc. (must be unmarked)
- Calculator (see below for when and what type of calculators are allowed)
- Sealable clear plastic wallet (no larger than A4)
- Non-carbonated and non-alcoholic drinks (not in glass bottles)

There is no spare stationery available from the Exams Help Desk at the venue, so make sure you bring all the equipment you need for your exams.
Calculators
Calculators are only allowed in certain exams. Your module leader or
department should make you aware of whether calculators are allowed prior to the exam period. If you're
ever unsure, then please check in advance. If a calculator is allowed, this will also be detailed on the
front of the exam paper.
There are only 2 ranges that are College approved for use in exams where
calculators are allowed. These ranges are: Casio fx-83 or
fx-85 range only.
Important to know:
- You must provide your own calculator as these are not provided in exams; you will need to purchase your own in advance.
- Using a different calculator model to Casio fx-83 or fx-85 is considered an exam offence.
- You will need to make sure that there is nothing written or scratched on to your calculator or calculator lid. Calculator lids must be placed under your desk. Any markings that are seen will be reported as an exam offence.
Watches
All watches (standard/digital/smart) must be taken off and placed in your bag/coat. This also includes any wearable technology including fitness bands.
You do not need to bring a watch to your exam. If you are taking the
paper-based exams, there will a clearly visible digital clock displayed on the wall.
If you are taking the computer-based exams, time will be displayed on your
laptop.
Remember that mobile phones, smart watches and smart bands are not allowed
as timekeeping devices. These items are not allowed because lots of models have functions akin to those
of a mobile phone.
Items that are not allowed include:
- Revision or course notes
- Books, statutes or dictionaries (except where approved by your department)
- Paper for rough work
- Laptops, media storage devices or audio players
- Ear plugs
- Headgear (except on religious grounds)
- Carbonated or alcoholic drinks or beverages in glass bottles
- Smartwatches/smartbands
- Food (unless permitted via Personalised Assessment Arrangements).
