The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) is the premier centre for mental health and related neurosciences research in Europe.

The IoPPN is a flourishing and expanding faculty of King’s College London with multidisciplinary expertise across disorders, across departments and with strong partnerships with the South London & Maudsley (SLaM) and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts.

Being part of an Academic Health Science Centre - King’s Health Partners - brings us into a stronger and unique partnership where both mental health and physical care come under the same umbrella, allowing us to further expand our research perspectives. Our partnership with the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre, hosted by SLaM, the largest mental health trust in the country, provides us with an advantageous position in translational research.

Our research agenda is entering a new phase of growth and development as we embrace the new opportunities that are arising from our developing partnerships, invest strategically in areas highlighted as local and national priorities, and make full use of emerging technologies and fantastic research facilities.
