For undergraduate students, dormancy occurs when you reach the end of a year of study but haven’t met the progression requirements to continue to the next year. This will be confirmed after the release of Assessment Period 3 results in September.
If you’re unable to progress to your next year of study, you’ll spend the academic year as a dormant resit student. You won’t attend any classes, but you’ll be invited to submit your outstanding reassessments. The aim is that by the end of your dormant resit year, you’ll have passed the credit required to move on to your next year of study.
During dormancy, you’ll still have access to King’s academic resources, such as the library, to support your reassessments. You’ll also continue to have access to Student Services.
You’ll remain enrolled at King’s during dormancy, even though you won’t be attending teaching or progressing to the next year yet.

any funding you’ve received
your visa status (if you’re an international student)
your expected programme completion and graduation date.
