A Faculty Personal Tutor is allocated to all undergraduate students in King's Business School (KBS). Your Faculty Personal Tutor will support you through one-to-one meetings, workshops and email.
Your Personal Tutor acts as your first point of contact and source of pastoral support. They can help with non-content-related academic challenges, such as time management. They can also signpost or refer you to other support services and work with you to make plans for the best way to approach any aspect of life at King's.
They most commonly help with:
planning how to succeed each year
preparing for assessments
developing academic skills
managing your studies alongside physical or mental health conditions
discussing interruptions to your studies
providing references.
They can also guide you on many other aspects of university life.
Your Personal Tutor will contact you at the start of each term to remind you of your booking link. You can also contact the KBS Student Support Team at kbs-studentsupport@kcl.ac.uk.
Postgraduate students
If you're a postgraduate student in KBS, you'll be supported by a Personal Tutor from your academic department.
Your Personal Tutor can help you to:
plan your Master's programme
discuss any academic or personal challenges that arise
explore your plans after your Master's programme
provide references
signpost you to other support services if you're unsure what support is available at King's.
You should feel welcome to contact your Personal Tutor at any time during your studies and book an office hours appointment at least once each term to review your progress.
You can find your Personal Tutor's details in Student Records.
Your Personal Tutor is supported by the KBS Student Support Team, who can be contacted at kbs-studentsupport@kcl.ac.uk.
