To collect a new or replacement student ID card, you'll need to provide proof of your identity. 

 

There are different requirements for student ID card collection depending on your nationality. 

 

Important to know: you must provide the original document to collect your student ID card. Copies of documentation, such as scans or photographs, will not be accepted.

 

 

International students (outside of the EU/EEA/Swiss) 

 

You must bring the following with you to collect your student ID card: 

  • Original passport 

 

If you do not have this document, you will not be issued a student ID card, and you should contact Visa & International Student Advice

 

International students (EU/EEA/Swiss) 

 

You must bring one of the following with you to collect your student ID card: 

  • Original passport 
  • National Identity card 

 

If you do not have either of these documents, you will not be issued a student ID card, and you should contact Visa & International Student Advice

 

Home students

 

You must bring one of the following with you to collect your student ID card: 

  • Original UK passport  
  • UK photographic driving license (with your birthplace being the UK or the Republic of Ireland) 

 

Important to know: if you are a home student but were not born in the UK or ROI, you must bring your original passport. We cannot accept UK driving licenses unless your place of birth is listed as the UK or ROI.  

 

If you do not have a photographic form of ID, other documentation that can be accepted is included below: 

  • Home Office documents 
  • Original UK birth certificate 
  • Original UK naturalisation certificate 
  • Original UK right of abode certificate
