Preparing to study at King's

If you’ve seen that your place at King’s has been confirmed on UCAS Track, you don’t need to call/contact King’s to confirm your offer.

Before you join us at King's, you’ll receive an email inviting you to set up your King's IT account as part of your enrolment. Your welcome email will contain your King's username, which begins with the letter K and is followed by 7 or 8 numbers (eg. k0123456), and your temporary password.

You’ll be required to complete the online enrolment task and upload your photograph for your Student ID card. The online enrolment task should take 10-15 minutes to complete and involves answering some questions about yourself to allow us to create your student record.

Important to know:

Every September and January, events are run to welcome our new students. Download the Welcome to King’s app to check out and sign-up for these events. 

All new students at King's will receive an induction from their academic department(s) and/or faculty when they begin their studies. Read our article How do I find out when my academic induction is taking place? for further guidance.

I'm arriving late, what should I do?

Once you’ve completed enrolment and selected your modules, you’ll be able to view your personal timetable, which includes detailed information on when your classes are scheduled to take place. 

When you open a bank account or apply for council tax exception, you’ll be asked to prove your student status. To be able to do so, you’ll need to obtain a Confirmation of Studies Letter.

Depending on whether you’ll be funded by Student Finance, a sponsor, or you’re self-funded, you’ll need to be aware of your responsibilities when it comes to paying fees.

If you're moving away from home to study at King's, it's a good idea to be registered with a nearby GP practice or dentist. Take a look at our article How can I register with a doctor and/or dentist? for more information on how to register.
